ABOUT THIS BLACK BELT PROGRAM
This Black Belt Training Program is tailored for a select group of individuals aiming to achieve Kukkiwon certification in Taekwondo. Spanning over 12 months, the program emphasizes excellence and personal growth, catering to dedicated individuals committed to mastering their craft. Participants can opt for either the 1-year program at $400 per month or the 2nd Dan program at $200 per month, both offering comprehensive training and guidance. Additionally, there’s a specialized 1-year Teacher Training Program priced at $2400, providing aspiring instructors with the knowledge and skills necessary to teach Taekwondo effectively. With a focus on discipline, perseverance, and technical proficiency, this program is designed to cultivate elite black belts who embody the spirit of Taekwondo. 52-Week Black Belt Training Program Curriculum
Weeks 1-4: White Belt
• Techniques & Forms: Basic techniques, Round house kick, Kick It Basic Form
• Sparring Practices: Basic sparring stance, Simple attack combinations
Weeks 5-8: Yellow Belt
• Techniques & Forms: Hook strike, Round house kick, Back kick, Taegeuk 1 Jang
• Sparring Practices: Front kick-roundhouse kick combinations, Basic defense
Weeks 9-12: Orange Belt
• Techniques & Forms: Hook strike, Uppercut, Side kick, Taegeuk 2 Jang

Taegeuk Il Jang (Form 1)
As the first Taegeuk Poomsae, Taegeuk Il Jang establishes the fundamental techniques and stances of Taekwondo. Black Belt Test Details
Dear Black Belt Candidate,
Congratulations on Entering the Black Belt Cycle! The final steps are just around the corner. Please complete the following items by the date listed below. Please follow the deadlines in order to complete the requirements. All Black Belt candidates should be approved through a Black Belt pre-test or individual assessment. Kukkiwon Test will be held on Sept 22, 2024 @ 1:00 pm King George Location.
Applications and associated fees must be turned in by Sept 13, 2024.
Additionally we are offering Black Belt Boot Camp in preparation for Kukkiwon testing. This includes strength training September 21nd & 22nd 10:00am – 12:00pm
Fees: 1st Dan $550, 2nd Dan $650, 3rd Dan $750, Boot Camp $225 Teacher Training- speak to Kick-it rep.
Black Belt Requirements:
• Black Belt pre-test completed with approval of Master Greg
• 1 hour Team nature run at Burnaby Mountain or Cleveland Dam. Please dress appropriately. TBD
• Stanley Park Run on Sunday August 11th at 7:00 am (Meet at Kick-it)
• Video Tutorial (eg. specific kicks/block/punches etc.) – 1 min
• A group 2 mile run timed at Bear Creek. Complete under 20 minutes. August 25th @ 9:00 AM
• Individually create a 1 page essay on “What a Black Belt Means to ME,” also include your personal goals as a Martial Artist.
• 1 min creative form to music this includes individually creating a Taekwondo form to a song of your choice, please bring your song to class.
• Kukkiwon Application completed and turned in this includes bringing a passport picture with the student in his/her uniform (picture size is indicated on the upper right corner of the application).
Kukkiwon Test will be on Sept. 22, 2024 @ 1:00 pm
